FairPrice, one of Singapore’s most iconic retail chains, was preparing to open its latest store. But this wasn’t just about cutting a ribbon or stocking shelves.
The brand sought to craft a multi-sensory launch experience — one that embodied its commitment to sustainability, local pride, and innovation, while surprising and delighting every visitor who walked through the doors.
They wanted more than an opening day.
They wanted a statement.
The Challenge: Translating Values into Engagement
How do you transform abstract brand values like “community care” or “eco-consciousness” into something visitors can see, feel, and interact with?
FairPrice approached NXT Interactive with this challenge — and we responded by blending AI, AR, storytelling, and smart gamification into a series of immersive activations that were as meaningful as they were memorable.
The Solution: Four Tech-Powered Experiences
We developed and deployed four unique experiences, each designed to engage users emotionally and intellectually while keeping the spotlight firmly on FairPrice’s values.
1. AR Wall Mural – “Facts Come Alive”
A visually striking, street-style mural transformed into a dynamic storytelling canvas.
Visitors could scan various elements of the mural using their mobile phones. With no app downloads required (thanks to WebAR), animated scenes sprang to life — sharing bite-sized fun facts about:

2. TikTok Filter Game – “Bin It Right!”
This social AR game challenged users to sort digital food trays into the correct recycling bins, gamifying Singapore’s real-world sustainability messages.
Hosted on TikTok and Instagram, the filter invited spontaneous participation, repeat play, and tons of user-generated content.

Fun, fast-paced gameplay with real-world relevance

Dozens of user-generated videos flooded TikTok and IG — proving that learning to recycle can be fun, viral, and values-aligned.
3. AI Mood-to-Food Booth – “What’s Your Craving?”
In a first for Singapore retail, we developed a facial expression recognition booth that read users’ moods and suggested local dishes accordingly.
Feeling joyful? Get Chicken Rice.
A little moody? Roti Prata might just cheer you up.
Dynamic animations and cultural references made every result feel spot-on and hilarious.

Visitors loved the accuracy, laughed at the results, and couldn’t wait to share their “food mood” with friends and family.
4. AI Avatar Booth – “Become a Local Icon”
Using AI-powered face-swap and animation, this activation let users transform into iconic Singaporean characters, from the Prata Uncle to the Wet Market Auntie.
The result? A hilarious, deeply local, and instantly shareable digital keepsake.
